One of the truly horrible things about California is how the glorious views from all those splendid hilltops belong exclusively to the owners of $1.5-million-plus homes. But if you search hard, sometimes you can find an accessible overlook, like this one, with its expansive views over San Rafael Bay, the Golden Gate Ferry terminal and (just out of site behind the hills at the left) San Quentin State Prison.
