The doctor in question here is my extraordinary & I think pretty damn noble cousin David Turoff, who's been providing mobile veterinarian services for his northern California neighbors since 1983. For most of that time he's also devoted 3 or 4 months a year to bringing free medical and mentoring services to impoverished rural communities and veterinary students in Central and South America. The painting shows Dave's home base near Placerville.
